Who We Are
Tanya Loewen
Tat Loewen is an award winning artist based out of Abbotsford, BC, an Arty Award recipient, and winner of Best Floral at the Vancouver Tattoo Show, multiple times.
She was born and raised on a multi-generational farm in Matsqui Prairie. She studied at Emily Carr University, before first dipping her toes into the world of tattooing in 2007.
A skilled painter, she has taken her love of gentle subject matter onto canvas, paper, and the body.
Tat is a published author, as well as published photographer, and busy mom-bot to four amazing, semi feral children.
She can be found at the shop, in her garden growing flowers and vegetables, and experiencing art, food, and culture across the globe, anywhere else she has time.
Rhian Webber
Rhian Webber, aka, The Renaissance Man, is a multi- talented artist based out of Abbotsford, BC.
Rhian is an aerosol artist, who brings decades of street art background into his tattoo work, with expressive and complex composition, depth, and punchy colour, but is also incredible at black and grey tattooing.
In a past life, he was a successful sign guy. He has a Master’s in Graphic Design, with strong understanding of use of space, and design flow, and is the proud father of four incredible kids.
He grew up on a ranch in Prince George, and can now be found creating walking art, at Grey Tide Tattoo, under the hood of an old vehicle, or doing nollie 360 shuvs at the nearest skatepark.
Our Mission
When we opened Grey Tide, we wanted to build a space that felt calm and safe for everyone who walked through its doors. A home without ego.
We started constructing a nest for focused work, that allowed us to be our best creative selves, without the static of a large shop, and built a workspace that supported ourselves, our morals, and a tattoo shop we could feel safe bringing our children to.
This is our creative home, rooted in family first values. Grey Tide offers a less stimulating tattoo environment, that allows for mellow concentration, and our best work.
This isn’t just our shop, it is an extension of who we are.
